Industry Insider: PHATco Customs

It’s always after you purchase a gun, people always tell you to tech it out. Maybe even watch a video, upgrade it yourself, buy parts or hand it to a friend to just work on for you. If you are like me, you would prefer to go to a reputable person/business that can handle all the tech work for you. One of those airsoft tech companies is known as PHATco Customs and I wanted to see if Ryan, the person behind PHATco, would be willing to provide people some information on the company.

• Can you tell the readers a little bit about your company? (what services you provide)

PHATCo Customs is a airsoft gun building service. I specialize in M4/V2 gearbox platform. I also build AKs, Tokyo Marui Next Gen Recoil Shocks,

• With the emergence of Covid-19 how has it affected your business? (good or bad)

Customer wise nothing has really changed. Ordering and getting parts has been more difficult for customer builds.

• In your opinion do you think that Covid has helped or hurt the industry you provide your services to? (In what ways?)

I think it has hurt the industry.

All the games hosts like American Milsim, Overwatch tactics and my local field BlackOps Bristol, have had to cancel or reschedule their games. All the travel bans keeping the players from attending national and local events.

The businesses that I order parts from are experiencing a shortage in obtaining parts and shipping takes longer.

• Do you feel that your company provides adequate customer service to those customers who are purchasing your product(s)?

Absolutely, yes. I stand behind my builds and take pride in each build for each of my customers. Once the gun leaves the shop it does not stop there. If any of my customers experience any issues, they can bring the gun back or ship it to me and I will fix it as long as the gearbox seal is still in place. I take care of my PHATCo Phamily!

• What are some of the major products or projects you are working on currently?

I designed and started producing my MP5 thread adaptor for the VFC/Elite Force MP5 A4 and MP5 A5. This makes it so you can put a suppressor on it and the suppressor sits flush.

I designed and produce rifle inserts for the Pelican 1740 case.

• What are your current hot products that everyone is grabbing?

MP5 Thread adaptors
VFC/Elite Force: MP5 A4, MP5 A5, 416 A5, VFC MK18, Avalon, MCX
Tokyo Marui NGRS: 416, MK18
I prefer to work on VFC base guns.
