Player Spotlight – January 2023 – Ben Allen

What is the player spotlight page about? Essentially I want to highlight airsofters in the community that are having fun, enjoying themselves and share different airsoft experiences. The purpose is to get us all to understand, we are all weirdos looking to just have fun playing with toys. So go ahead and share a bit of your airsoft journey with the rest of us. Why did you get into airsoft?
20 years ago, I went camping with my family and a friend brough along a TM mp5. We shot at some trees since we only had 1 replica, but I was hooked immediately

Favorite weapon you dominate the field with?
Custom SSG10-A3 Sniper and Custom HPA Krytac LMG

What is something positive someone has done for you in airsoft?
Bruce, from Airsoft League South Africa booked my hotel with Names Nicco, Sniper Jaco, and Kicking Mustang for a milsim in South Africa. He single handely and unknowingly changed the course of my life. With that one trip, I became friends for life with 4 amazing people and have gone to visit them on the other side of the world.

What is something positive you have done for someone in airsoft?
My youtube channel [One Punch Airsoft] started by wanting to show the world all the various fields in Colorado. Then graduated to the national scale and now the global scale. Now I aspire to be the worlds most traveled airsofter and to record my travels and conquests for history to see. I’ve become friends with famous youtubers, players, field owners, marshalls worldwide and I wouldn’t trade anything in my life for the memories I’ve made through airsoft. What do you think needs to be improved on in airsoft?
Media perception. We need a commercial, or something to explode airsoft into mainstream like nerf does on the TV. The issue would be finding the right media outlet to promote the hobby on a massive scale

What is the best part of airsoft for you?
The mind and body connection you get when you’re in that moment, when the thrill of the chase or the fear of being taken down is all that is in your mind. Your body is 100% in tune and you cooperate together to accomplish your goals. We fight out minds and bodies so often, but when we lose yourself in the game and both work harmoniously….that is the best part of airsoft for me.
