Industry Insider: LayLax

LayLax is one of those companies you will always hear about for parts and accessories in Airsoft. They have been in the industry for a long time and provide a lot of the parts provided in Airsoft guns today. Ryan, who handles a lot of their international affairs, provided us some insight on whats going on today at LayLax.

  • Can you tell the readers a little bit about your company? (what services you provide)

LayLax is a Japanese airsoft parts manufacturer and designer based in Osaka, Japan. We have been around for about 2 decades and have recently expanded to the international community just over 5 years ago. Our business started as a small shop that produced easier-to-get replacement parts for Tokyo Marui guns. We not only provided replacements for the TM systems but upgraded and premium quality replacements. Before long, LayLax shifted its focus on producing a wider variety of not only performance parts for AEGs (Prometheus) and GBBs (Nineball), but a whole line of series focusing on tactical gear, apparel, external mods, rails, cosmetics and so forth. Upon expanding internationally LayLax further widened its variety of performance upgrade parts and mods to other brands such as G&G and Krytac. Now LayLax is the world’s top maker of high-end parts for several consecutive years winning the world’s top parts maker 6 years in a row. We develop new product every single month adding to our vast array of options for the player to customize their guns and gears to their heart’s content. LayLax has grown considerably in the past few years alone, and is expanding its reach to new frontiers and new technologies every year.

  • With the emergence of Covid-19 how has it affected your business? (good or bad)

COVID-19 has hit everyone hard, and we especially felt it in the airsoft industry. Many great fields, shops, and even a few manufacturers have fallen to the COVID-19 slump. LayLax has sustained a bit of damage from the situation, but overall doing well, and we are in good shape now, without any foreseeable issues ahead. April through June was the real challenge, but as soon as July hit and places began lifting quarantine measures, things have steadily been regaining speed. We have also been doing our best to support our shops and fields across the world with campaigns and promotions as well throughout the pandemic.

  • What are some of the major products or projects you are working on currently? (if you can’t share, its all good) What are your current hot products that everyone is grabbing?

That said, we usually release upwards to 10 new products per month as we have a long rotating R&D schedule. Our most recent products have been selling exceptionally well and are very popular. This includes the brand new 8mm EG Prometheus Gearbox shell, our new affordable and slick Glock and Hi Capa holsters. Recently our GBB line of parts, Nineball has been selling the new 2-way outer barrels for the Hi Capa series and MK23 have been flying off the shelves and we are doing our best to restock them as quickly as possible. Some future projects are still in development and quite secret, but all I can say that is we are working towards a complete Prommy gearbox in the future with everything you need to build one your self as well as maybe revisiting older items to revamp them for harder builds.
