Arcturus x C.A.T. AR-15 Explorer

Hey guys this is your boy randomguykev and I am bringing you a 2 minute review of the Arcturus CAT AR 15 Explorer AEG powered by Arcturus. You know what I am going to say but I am not going to say it, so let’s continue with this review. You guys might remember this gun from another video I did while in Japan on this collaboration gun from Airsoft97 and Arcturus, specifically Spark Limited and Arcturus. I will leave a link for that video down below. The Arcturus Combat Artisan Tactical (or CAT) AR 15 Explorer model retails for about $360 – $380 at an authorized Arcturus dealer. The model I received was the 10 inch Explorer model but there is the 8.5 inch Explorer model and then the Legend models. 

When I had the opportunity to first check this out, I felt it was solid, lightweight and did what you needed it to do. After actually getting some trigger time with it, I can see why it’s a big hit overseas. Straight out of the box this thing is wired to deans, lightweight and versatile. I personally feel this doesn’t need any tweaking or upgrades to it and you can just hit the ground running. I would recommend checking out the manual to understand the precocking mechanisms and the battery capacity if you don’t know what that is. Essentially precocking allows for more responsive shooting than a bolt-action or gas powered airsoft gun according to Arcturus. Adjusting this feature is dependent on a couple items that you could read in the manual. I plugged in my battery and hit my designated targets, so it worked perfectly fine for more. I love the uniqueness of the folding stock that has a braided cord to protect your cables and you can also adjust the height of your stock if you want to get it at the right eye level. You can still shoot with it in the folded position. The MPS stock or multi purpose system stock is modular as it has a picatinny rail system to add or remove what you want. Traditionally it comes with a smaller and sleek look but you can add additional storage if you choose. You don’t ONLY have to add what’s provided to the rail segment, you can literally add anything. Your imagination is the only limitation. It does come with ARC V2 Centaur Split Gearbox with a QSR2 quick change spring system so you can adjust the gun at any time for both indoor and outdoor use. I don’t consider this as a real con but a learning experience for me, is that I had to open the manual to understand the precocking option and to make sure I was using the correct battery for the gun. I have heard experiences of people using the incorrect battery for this gun and it not shooting as expected but once they reviewed the manual, grabbed the correct battery, everything worked fine.

For the beefy price $360 – $380, I would recommend this to anyone looking for another M4 that doesn’t really need any upgrading and works as expected out of the box.
