Video Games In Airsoft With The KWA TK45

Some KWA Offerings

In the past 2 to 3 years KWA has been paving a way for unique and custom builds within the Airsoft industry. Some may argue that it’s been longer but from what I am seeing, they have been taking your standard M4 or SMG build and creating something straight out of video games. We could talk about their collaboration products with PTS, that include the Radian Model 1, Centurion Arms CM4, Mega Arms MKM AR15, Masada or the uniqueness of their QRF line which include the MOD 1, 2, 3 and special editions. What we are going to talk about though is their Ronin Line, specifically the TK45 (TK45c).

The KWA Ronin Line

The Ronin Line does have other products that include the T6 and T10 but I think what started to set KWA apart was the TK45. The TK45 was debuted at Shotshow in 2018 but definitely teased in 2017. When it was released people SCREAMED that it was a Vector clone and YEAH I get it, they do look like twins but there was definitely something that set them apart. Different shape and magwell but definitely a reimaged type of gun. Three different models were shown at Shotshow in 2018 with additional models on the way. I think what made the TK45 jump at people more than the Vector, is because of the video game look of the gun. Yes, the Vector has been in plenty of video games but as humans, we get tired of seeing the same thing over and over again. Spice up the gun, change it up, make different variations of it so I get excited seeing it. Yes, in airsoft everyone wants an officially licensed gun from an official gun company but what about those people who just want to play? Just want something that looks good, runs good and feels good. Those people who play video games sometimes want to see that gun from their favorite game come to life.

2014 – Titanfall

Jump back to 2014 with the release of Titanfall, a highly anticipated first person shooter that legit was AMAZING. The different play styles and weapons blew your mind at the time of release. If you look at some of the weapons from that game you can see something that looks familiar on that list. The R-101C Carbine you could say was the precursor to what the TKWA K45 is, just a little bit different. Even the R-97 Compact resembles the KWA TK45 in small ways.

2016 – Titanfall 2

Next jump to 2016 with the release of Titanfall 2 and you can still see the resemblance between the KWA TK45 and both the R-101/R-201 variants in the game. You change up the rail a little bit, add some colors and BOOM, you have a gun from a video game in airsoft.

2019 – Apex Legends

We are moving on to 2019 after the release of the KWA TK45 and look at that, it definitely pops up again in Apex Legends. Apex Legends is from the creators of Titanfall/Titanfall 2 so it would be expected they would replicate weapons from their previous title. Now we got the R-301 and the R-99. Change out some parts, add some color and you can definitely make your KWA TK45 into something close to these weapons.

2020 – Halo Infinite

Finally back to 2020 and it seems we may have another variation of the KWA TK45 coming out with the new release of Halo Infinite at the end of 2020. Based on some screen grabs from the videos, the VK78 does look similar to the KWA TK45 but we may have to wait for an “official” release to check it out.

What are your thoughts?

What are your thoughts on this? Oh yeah before I forget, Call of Duty Modern Warfare does have the Fennec but I am torn on saying it is similar to the KWA TK45 just cause they probably couldn’t get the license to use the name Vector in their video game. Sometimes that licensing thing holds you back from creating something, that’s why you should just create something unique and just different. Better to shoot your shot in the dark, instead of relying on others for that extra bump.
