Providing Airsoft Reviews, Airsoft Gameplay & Entertainment

Siege: A Fan Film By Cory Haynes

Let me tell you how exciting this project sounds and how hype I am for it. I AM EXCITED!! Cory was able to provide us some more information on this upcoming project.

Siege

Siege is a fan film based around the hit video game Rainbow 6: Siege. The idea came about as I was acting on the set of SCP: Overlord. I was speaking with Wayne Gassman, a professional camera operator or Director of Photography, about the concept of doing a tactical film. I play Siege every night when i’m not on duty and have fallen in love with the depth of gameplay it offers. We quickly decided that a Siege fan film would be a great way for me to break into the hobby/career of filmmaking.

Airsoft and Indies

The film industry is slowly starting to discover how useful the milsim and airsoft community is. Being able to call for extras and actors and have them show up with their own gear is an amazing money saving asset. As we all know, the majority of serious Milsimers are normally walking around in 1 to 2 thousand dollars worth of gear. Imagine a film having to outfit 10 extras out of pocket. You’ve already spent 10 to 20k on extras alone. It’s not hard to see why the milsim community has started melding into the film community.

The Cast

Siege is calling up some of the best that the local airsoft and film communities have to offer. Noah Bryan, an experienced actor in tactical films (SCP:DOLLHOUSE, SCP:OVERLORD)  heads the team as everyone’s favorite Canadian Operator, Buck. Jesson Bateman, one of the countries leading experts in tactical medicine (and a real doctor), will of course be playing Doc. Jay “Woodcock” Erwin, an avid milsim player and combat veteran, will be playing Thermite. Jennifer Lynn, the owner of Tucsan’s Freedom Airsoft will be playing the stealthy Caveira. Aaron Mendoza, an actor and long time player around the American Milsim and speedsoft communities will be taking on the role of Goyo. Finally, rounding out the main cast is Cole Thornton. Cole, from the ASAP podcast and longtime milsim player is muscling up to wield the shield of Blitz.

The Crew

We are not going into this project blind. We have enlisted the help of industry professionals to ensure success. Bunee Tomlinson will be Co-Directing. Bunee brings experience in directing and performances. He is a Regional Emmy Award winner. Wayne Gassman, also an Emmy award winner, will be helming the look of the film as the Director of Photography. There are numerous other professionals working on lighting, sound, FX, props and more. The cast and crew currently number around 30 individuals.

Funding

The entire crew is donating their time and effort into making this film come alive. There is easily 50 to 60,000 dollars worth of gear, crew and talent being donated to this film. However, we still have costs. If you are interested in donating, please visit the indiegogo link below. For the cost of a trip to the theater (which is closed anyway), you can help make a film! Funding goes towards lodging, food and post production. Post production consists of months of VFX and SFX work, editing, grading and an original soundscore for the film.
