G&G FAR 556 & FAR 9

Hey guys this is your boy randomguykev and I am bringing you a 2 minute review of the FAR 556 and FAR 9 powered by G&G. Yes I am doing them together as the only 2 differences between the 2 is the price point and that one is a PCC styled rifle and the other is an M4 style rifle. They both handle the same and when it comes to G&G, they love creating many variants of the same product for different play styles. The FAR 9 retails for about $288 and the FAR 556 retails for about $299 at an authorized G&G dealer.

I haven’t run a G&G rifle in awhile but this definitely gave me the nostalgic feeling of running that rental combat machine and arp9 but in an upgraded form. Out of the box they shoot about 335 to 340 FPS on .20 gram BBs. They are wired to deans and come with standard deans to small tamiya adapters. Using the FAR 556 on the field was fun as it was just sending BBs and connecting with targets. With the FAR 9 I was having a bit of a feeding issue with the initial mag it came with but it was feeding fine with the drum mag I was using. Having the ability to fold the front end as well as the stock is cool if you’re trying to minimize the amount of things you are carrying. Be mindful when folding your barrel that the barrel assembly piece may go into a “locked in” mode. It won’t come out unless u press down on a latch, to have it come out. Even if you just connect it back to the body that barrel assembly stays locked in and the gun becomes unusable until you resolve that. That was my only con about both the FAR 556 and the FAR 9 is that the barrel assembly didn’t come back out on its own when connecting it back to the main body. Overall both guns performed pretty well for me.

If you are thinking about picking this up, I would recommend you pick the one that you will most likely use more often because essentially they are both the same performing product. I personally would say go with the 556 version because you can never go wrong with an m4. I would recommend this for intermediate level players or players that are looking to save on space when traveling to the field. Thank you again to G&G for sending this out to me. If you are a beginner please play with a rental gun before purchasing anything to see if you even like airsoft. If you are looking to purchase this gun, I will leave a link for it below.
